About PawPulse

An independent, dog-owner-run magazine covering canine health, training, nutrition, and breed culture — written for people who take dog ownership seriously.

Our mission

PawPulse exists to help everyday dog owners make better decisions for the dogs in their lives. We translate veterinary research, training science, and industry news into clear, practical guidance you can actually use — without hype, fear-mongering, or filler.

Who we are

PawPulse is published by a small, independent editorial team of long-time dog owners, fosters, and pet-industry writers. We are not owned by a pet-food brand, a veterinary chain, or an insurance company. Our income comes from display advertising and, occasionally, clearly disclosed affiliate links — never from sponsored content dressed up as editorial.

Health and nutrition articles are additionally reviewed by our Veterinary Review Board, a rotating group of licensed small-animal veterinarians who volunteer to check clinical accuracy before publication.

What we cover

  • Dog Health & Wellness — symptoms, screening, senior care, and emerging veterinary research.
  • Puppy Training & Behavior — evidence-based, reward-driven training and behavior explainers.
  • Dog Nutrition — food trends, ingredient science, and supplement reality checks.
  • Dog Breeds & Lifestyle — breed profiles, cultural trends, and living-with-a-dog features.

How we work

Read the full Editorial Policy for the details, but in short:

  • Every article is built from primary sources — peer-reviewed studies, AVMA / AKC / FDA guidance, and named expert commentary.
  • We use AI tools to help research and draft. Every published article is reviewed and edited by a human before it goes live.
  • Health and nutrition pieces get an additional pass from our Veterinary Review Board.
  • Errors are corrected quickly and marked transparently — see our Corrections Policy.

Not veterinary advice

Nothing on PawPulse is a substitute for the personalized advice of a licensed veterinarian who has physically examined your dog. If your dog is unwell, please call your vet.
